There's plenty of body roll on twisty roads, and the nose dives under hard braking. Ford did design a washer to fill this gap if desired by owner to eliminate noise, but not necessary. Cargo room depends on whether the folding seats are up or down: There's ample space behind the third row, but when both rows are folded, maximum cargo volume — 83. Other than this repair, it's been a great car! The third row has decent headroom, but the seats are too low to the floor to provide adult-friendly thigh support. This should not be happening at 67k miles.
When adding transmission fluid to your Flex, be sure to add it slowly as it will fill up quickly and is difficult to remove excess fluid if you overfill. Noticable improvement in transmission smoothness after repair. Ford's Vista Roof, which includes a power moonroof up front and skylights for the second and third rows, is optional. This will be my last Ford. I suspect a lot of those shoppers will settle for a run-of-the-mill V-6 crossover, but for those who still want yesteryear's burly performance, Ford has a solution worth looking into.
If you are having problems with the transmission in your Flex, such as clunky shifting or hesitation, check the fluid level first - it is amazing how many drivers pay thousands of dollars for transmission work when a half quart of transmission fluid would have fixed the problem. In a lot of large crossovers, highway passing requires an automatic that shifts quickly and high engine revving. I have read that Mercon V is only synthetic blend, I'm hoping to use full synthetic instead. The EcoBoost scoots off the line around town and makes quick work of highway passing. This leak was on the right side.
Reflash took care of the problem along with new battery 71016 km Clunking noise and jerking. I have looked at the Mobil 1, but it only says for older ford and Mercon only. With a maximum towing capacity of 4,500 pounds, the EcoBoost doesn't tow any more than the base Flex. Could not be replicated and has not reocurred. Problem is intermittant and less frequent as before, but still happening. If the transmission fluid level in your Flex is low, you need to add transmission fluid through the dipstick tube.
