Very disappointed with the policies regarding reservations and any discounts. The arts scene in Minneapolis is top-notch and wide-ranging. There are loose dogs running around. Enjoy our five star resort amenities including; pool, huge playground, beach, mini golf, tennis courts, and more. Probably the nicest municipal campground in which I've ever stayed.
From the pictures and description on the website, we had high hopes for this campground. Give us a call and find out how we can safely connect gas grills, gas fired water heaters, oven ranges, dryers and fireplaces. There are many other campgrounds in the area. This is a real gem of a park less than 30 minutes north of the Twin Cities. The stall doors have so much rust on them that the bottoms are falling off. Facilities are fine, but the parking spots are all uneven gravel.
Chan said the one-year delay makes sense, because it takes time for the ads to reach a critical mass and for those infected to seek help. We do not tow, so access to public transportation in an urban environment is a real plus. Unfortunately, we were so busy during our stay here that we didn't have time to explore. The sites are among the most generously spaced we've encountered, with lots of trees and foliage between. Connecting on the second floors of all major downtown office and apartment buildings, the skyway system is an innovative hallway network allowing you to walk for miles without ever going outside. Stayed here Thursday - Monday in early September in a 40' motorhome. Would have given the park 5 stars if they had water at the site.
So we had to move to a different site, after we had already unhooked and setup. Very tight turns in campground so be careful. The park is drop dead gorgeous. The toilet paper was always empty in a least one of the stalls. The office staff were unable or empowered to use common sense in the running of the park. Hiked and biked the extensive trail system. We moved to another site, that allowed use of the awning and was approximately 20' from the unit next store.
While we were here it rained even more, and the water got to within 10 or 15 feet of our rig. Surrounding towns offer great golf, antiquing, cafes and special events. Bathrooms were scary--not private at all. Upon arrival, we were put in a campsite where the hookups for the water and electric were broken. There is easy access to shopping, etc.
Have your boat at the ready in a slip at the marina. The campsites are large and week-spaced. Lots include boat slip and hook up. Overall, what sites were available were very narrow, very run down looking, very damp due to the heavy tree cover. This is not a destination resort but should serve very well for a day or week or more. In fact one of the best campgrounds that I have visited for Wi-Fi. Surrounding the park is a nice system of trails both paved and mowed grass for hiking and biking.

The park is open from April 15 until Oct 15. The owners and staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful. They have great recycling bins, giving you bags to do so, even so far as composting, which we were happy about. Friendly community with low annual association dues, mature trees, beautiful landscaping, and sunsets in a safe, serene setting on 15 connecting lakes that could leave you boating for days. We are only one hour west of downtown Minneapolis.
Parking the towed vehicle was a challenge. We kayaked on Lake Independence and Lake Spurzem. You can fill your water tank with potable water at the pump out area. Not very welcoming or friendly.
