    Problem Overview: Palm engaged ThoughtMatrix to create an interactive tool to support the users’ phone selection process.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix extended the new site visual design and developed a complex, interactive flash tool, utilizing xml to feed the required assets and information to the user.

    ThoughtMatrix designed this tool to be easily modified for all of Palm’s worldwide regions. The use of xml files for controlling the tool’s selection logic and the data makes for easy management of the tool itself.

    Opportunity: PayPal is one of the largest transactional sites in the world, processing electronic payments for thousands of business every minute. However, the business stakeholders encountered a number of challenges with rapidly deploying new content and content changes into production.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix worked closely with PayPal to determine how best to evolve their infrastructure to enable different levels of content management. Our team worked on understanding the needs of the business, the infrastructure challenges and selected a set of tools that would meet their needs.

    ThoughtMatrix has since worked with PayPal to implement the first pages deployed to PayPal.com using a content management system and to deploy an architecture for building and deploying PayPal sites on different domains. After launching international sites for Poland and others, ThoughtMatrix launched the UI and Content Standards site that will eventually be used by all global partners who develop content or pages for the Web.

    Problem Overview: HSALiving.com wanted to enter the crowded and complex health care industry with completely new website and identity. HSALiving would give the public the ability to get competitive quotes for health savings accounts from their site and their co-brand partners.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix worked with HSALiving to create a brand identity and logo. Then developed the information architecture, website design and implemented the site. ThoughtMatrix currently hosts and maintains the site it in our colo in San Francisco.

    Built on a LAMP architecture; with PHP the site integrates several sophisticated systems to allow HSA to respond to customers. The site utilizes several third- party technologies quoitit, salesforce, webtrends, ShareBuilder, KJE Computer Solutions, and LiveChat, to manage their customer quotes, questions, and co-brand partners. The system also allows HSALiving to add co-brand partner sites with a custom user friendly backend user interface. The system also takes advantage of SEO and SEM best practices to establish high ranks in the major search engines.

    Results: The website offers users information and initiates the health savings account quoting process for individuals and families with providers throughout the country. The quoting process also automatically registers users to the site, where they can get exclusive content offered by HSALiving.

    In just over 3 months HSALiving has received nealy 1000 quotes and members, and over 100,000 page views. HSA Living also has established several co-brand relationships.

    HSALiving is also established an exceptionally high ranking on major search engines with several health savings account terms and phrases.

    Challenge: LSI is a one of the original Silicon Valley success stories, but the brand had diminished over time and significantly misunderstood. Over the past 5 years, LSI invested heavily in beyond their initial ASIC market and has become a industry leading provider for enterprise storage. Their technology is now at the core of storage solutions for companies such as Dell, IBM, HP, Sun and others.

    In 2006, LSI celebrated their 25-year anniversary and developed an interim brand, while working to create a completely new corporate brand. One of the most significant strategies for the brand was to create a new web experience that allowed their customers to use the site as a business tool to engage the market and position LSI as a thought leader and technology innovator. The current site did not represent the brand well and suffered from significant usability issues. Recent surveys highlighted visitors’ were unable to locate information they needed and did not recognize the rich capabilities of the new LSI.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix, working with a creative partner, Decision Counsel, began by conducting a detailed content and site analysis resulting in completely new information architecture designed to ensure ease of navigation and presentation of strategic content within the context of the visitors interests.

    ThoughtMatrix also created a new site feature for presenting thought leadership information called the Insight Center. The insight center is both a new site section and threaded within the relevant site sections by products and technologies.

    Results: The new site launched on time to support the 25-year anniversary activities and the consolidation of three acquisitions. LSI successfully launched a new company identity without requiring a significant site redesign. Using the information architecture developed by ThoughtMatrix and design templates created by Decision Counsel, LSI’s internal team successfully integrated the new logo, color scheme and imagery in record time.

    Problem Overview: Numenta.com needed a platform to develop a community around its emergent HTM technology. Cognitive computing is not for the average developer; which presented numenta.com with a unique challenge of sharing their extremely technical platform to a sophisticated audience.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix developed the information architecture, website design, software delivery, and community components for Numenta. Once completed, we hosted it in our colo in San Francisco.

    The system is built on a cost effective LAMP architecture and leverages open source technology for it’s community components, and software delivery. The site integrates html pages, phpBB, and mediaWiki with a unified registration with multiple permission and access levels.

    The website allows users the ability to subscribe to the site and download the HTM software and platform. User also have the ability to participate in threaded discussion on the message boards and create and manage their own wiki pages to share and collaborate. The site administration gives complete control over all aspects of the site including user management and utilizes WebTrends Online for analytics.

    PWGPA

    Problem Overview: The PWGPA needed to improve overall productivity and efficiency for mailing, printing and reporting on the health and pension plans of over 19000 producers and writers serving the television and film industries.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix was hired to develop a custom application to take data from V3, PWGPA database, and massage that data for mail merging, printing and reporting essentially automating what was a manual processes.

    The application was delivered in three modules. Mail Merge is a .Net application and integrates well with MS Office. The reporting application is based on Java and splits large Crystal Reports into manageable chunks for printing and lastly a manual process override that lets a user customize EDG for specific communication needs.

    The application takes V3 data from a dropzone and merges it into a template. Depending on the doc type, the document is printed and mailed to a plan participant or a report is generated. Templates are managed in their native format (i.e. MS Word) and administrators using the system don’t need to learn a special application.

    Problem Overview: Tellourlifestories.com came to ThoughtMatrix asking us to design, develop and host their new website from the ground up.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix developed the information architecture, website design, ecommerce and community components for Tellourlifestories. Once completed, we hosted it in our colo in San Francisco.

    The system is built on a cost effective LAMP architecture and integrated with their merchant account at Wells Fargo through Authorize.net

    The website lets a user subscribe to the service, create and edit their stories, add pictures, print to a PDF, invite friends to their community to read and collaborate on stories. We built and delivered the admin interface to the database and implemented WebTrends Online for analytics.

    Problem Overview: When Ingres spun their business out of Computer Associates with the goal of becoming a leader in Enterprise-grade open source database solutions, a key part of their strategy was to build a branded community site.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix ported the open source software to work with Ingres and built out the community environment.

    The system is built on phpBB and integrated with their merchant account at Wells Fargo through Authorize.net

    The website lets users register, download software, post questions and connect with both the community and internal Ingres experts to get answers to their questions. It will serve as the definitive community site for the Ingres database because of the contribution of Ingres business leaders, architects and developers

    Challenge: Openwave is one of the leading providers of systems software for cell phones. As part of their effort to re-position themselves and offer an expanded suite of services, Openwave selected ThoughtMatrix to perform a thorough analysis of their existing site and the development of a new information architecture as the first step in their overall redesign

    Solution Overview: We interviewed all key stakeholders globally, performed a heuristic analysis and competitive analysis. Based on our findings, we developed the new Information Architecture for Openwave.com, delivering all wireframes and task flows. Then, leveraging the new brand guidelines, a new visual design was applied that better represents OpenWave and the needs of their diverse audience

    Once the new design was complete, ThoughtMatrix supported OpenWave in the development of the new functionality on the site and in bringing the site to life

    Results: The new information architecture and design have enabled OpenWave to more easily incorporate new features into the site and has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from their users domestically and abroad

    Opportunity: MarkMonitor, the leader in online brand protection had an outdated website that was detrimental to their company and brand.

    Solution Overview: Cleary Partners teamed with ThoughtMatrix to update their site and deliver it via their content management system.

    ThoughtMatrix developed the information architecture and Cleary Partners applied the design. We converted it to HTML and delivered it to the content management system in PHP. We continue to provide support for the site, helping develop new forms and fixing bugs created by the content management system.

    Challenge: Computerworld is one of the oldest, best recognized IT brands in print and has had a solid presence online for 10 years. However, their old print production system, Vignette content management system, Web platform and infrastructure did not allow them to deliver on a modern content promise or to support their traffic goals. Their site depth and stickiness was far below industry averages and their visual design was dated. Computerworld asked us to help them rethink their information architecture, creative and content management and truly monetize all of their content across channels.

    Solution Overview: We created a new information architecture and site taxonomy that enabled all types of content to be threaded through the site in a contextual way, a new content management platform that gave the editors control of content wherever they needed it and a new, scalable Web platform that enables that rich user experience.

    Results: Within two months of launch, page views increased by over 50%. Users were diving deeper into the site now that relevant related content, including blogs, articles, news and rich media were now right at their fingertips.

    Opportunity: WildLifeDirect wanted to establish a web presence that allowed people to see the plight of endangered species in six of the most famous parks in Africa and donate specific items to the rangers that protect them.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix & Cleary Partners built a website with ecommerce and community features that allowed users to contribute and share their experiences with other community members.

    The system is built on a cost effective LAMP architecture using X-Cart eCommerce and integrated with their merchant bank account through Authorize.net

    The website lets a user register to donate, send post cards to their friends and family inviting them to join and provides a wealth of detailed information on the problems facing the animals in the parks including poaching and the ravages of civil war. We built and delivered a unique eCommerce experience in that a user can donate specific items that the park rangers need such as boots, uniforms, gasoline, tires and satellite phones, rather than just cash.

    Challenge: ExpertCEO.com is a new online community with a mission of creating a professional networking site targeting the unique needs of senior executives. The company founders expressed their vision of enabling C-level executives to solve real-world business problems using the power of social networking. Initially, ExpertCEO.com is an invitation only site focusing on CEO’s, COO’s and General Managers in the technology sector. The engagement required ThoughtMatrix to create a new company from the ground up, including naming, developing the brand and identity and building a custom social network. The site’s initial features include:

    • Confidential collaboration system for person to person Q&A, interactivity with peers privately, and with an option of anonymity.
    • A searchable directory of resources such as investors, PR & marketing firms, lawyers and other service organizations rated and reviewed by the members.

    Solution Overview: ThoughtMatrix utilized our proven rapid creative design approach to develop the company and website identity.
