Opportunity

To promote the benefits of yogurt and dairy products, Dannon supported a nutrition institute for recent doctoral graduates focusing on nutrition. The institute required a private Web site and online community to communicate knowledge and foster collaboration for the members. Dannon had a limited staff available to maintain the site. Additionally, the team responsible for the site consisted of business and marketing professionals who required a simple yet flexible content management solution.

Solution

ThoughtMatrix conducted a rapid platform selection process to determine the best CMS solution for the Dannon team. The process included collecting and reviewing their business needs with the key marketing stakeholders and the technical environment required by the Dannon IT department.

Simultaneously, our interaction design team developed a user experience for the new institute Web site that balanced the flexibility the users desired with the CMS capabilities to ensure maximum manageability.

Results

ThoughtMatrix implemented a Joomla! content management solution. Our team designed custom content input and management templates based on collaborative planning sessions with the key Dannon users. The site also included a member directory with custom search and filter features designed to help members identify other members for interaction within the online community. ThoughtMatrix delivered the new site within a tight schedule to ensure the site was launched and available before the next class of students graduated and became institute members.
